Netscape Browser
Netscape Browser is based on the Firefox engine developped by Mozilla and the Trident engine by Microsoft. This is done to prevent sites from rendering incorrectly though, in my humble opinion, if every webmaster sticks to international standards there will be no rendering problems at all.
The Netscape Browser is the middleman, a combination of both Firefox and Internet Explorer the only thing that makes this browser special is the Site Control-system which allows you to choose whether do display a page using the firefox or internet explorer engine, eliminating a lot of security risks.
Pro's
- Netscape complies with international standards, unlike Internet Explorer
Con's
- The netscape engine is often outdated/updated far too late
- Slower compared to Firefox
- The browser comes, unasked, with the AOL messaging program
