How to disable Windows Messenger

These are caused by spammers using a feature, how smart, microsoft enables automatically when you install windows xp.
The recommended method to remove windows messenger
- Goto start->run and enter
- RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove (tip, select the text, press control-c, goto start->run and press control-v)
To disable the service without removing the program
- Download this file
- Doubleclick on the file
- When receiving a warning choose 'yes'
- You'll receive a confirmation the registry value was changed
- Restart windows
You can disable windows messenger because, if you want to use a messenger you can download msn messenger which is a little safer compared to the windows messenger
