MSN (Microsoft Network Messenger)
MSN has a 'nice' adbar which, though it can be disabled, is definately adware since you cannot remove the bar without a little tweaking. Go here to download an archive containg a program to remove all advertising included in msn (and more)
Aside from this adware, msn has a feature to increase your security/privacy
- Start MSN
- Goto Tools->options->privacy
- Check ' Only people on my Allow List can see my status and send me messages'
Note: There are no holes reported for MSN7, yet. MSN6 contains one, still unresolved security issue. It's unlikely that hole will be resolved, since MSN7 has been released. To view a history of MSN vulnerabilities, patched and unpatched, go here (file from www.mess.be)
