1. Linking

  • Though deeplinks are accepted, only one submission per domain is allowed, this also applies to subdomains which are part of the same site. This has been done because people can navigate to the other pages you want to link when they are on your site and to prevent a lot of links pointing, in essence, to the same site/subdomain.
  • Sites containing the same content having only a different layout/template will also be rejected. Most sites ‘camouflaging’ using different templates are nothing more then sites with a minimum of content, created to generate revenue ASAP, no quality there. This also applies to people owning different domains and using different templates but provide the same content (usually a referral based site)
  • Aall sites submitted which are based upon referral sales, such as a site used as a sale referral for the 'main' site will be rejected.

2. Content

  • Sites containing illegal, or otherwise offensive material or links to that material will be rejected, please keep the directory a good clean one.
  • When using copyrighted material, stolen content or hotlinking to other sites, your site will be rejected because of ethical reasons. Create your own content or don’t submit your site.
  • Having a site with more ads then content, ie. 2/3 adsense block and a few lines of text, will be rejected. As well as sites aimed at revenue being no more than a site linking to, for example, amazon, kelkoo etc. Please provide good, quality content.
  • Pop-ups and pop-unders as well as redirects and/or attempts to install spyware, adware and/or other attempts to fool people into generating ad-revenue will be rejected. As stated above, provide good, clean content. The web is already full of those sites.

3. Submission

  • All sites submitted using a spoofed ip will be rejected, since the person who submitted the site needs to be traceable to prevent spam and/or multiple submissions of sites which are more or less the same
  • Please submit to the appropriate category, when necessary suggest one, and provide a good description of your site.
  • Provide a good, objective description of your site, try to be as precise as possible. No 'vague' terms such as free software, download music etcetera, or, even worse terms as 'best site' 'greatest' etc.
  • Descriptions consisting of keywords only will be rejected.
  • Make sure the title you submit is also the real title of your website and not a phrase to attract visitors.

4. Bans

  • Bans will not easily be given but this can and will happen when:
  • People start spamming, submitting a lot of sites at once which do not follow the guidelines ie. money- or linkfarms. Note: we're not only talking sbout the same domains here, but also about ports of the same site/content using a different template.
  • The same site, which has been rejected, is submitted again (warning) and still doesn't follow the guidelines. The third time this happens the user will be banned
  • Registered users change any site info, when the link has been accepted, without following the guidelines

5. Checking

  • All listed links will be checked once a month/two months. When a site doesn't comply with the guidelines anymore or when it hasn't had any new content, such as directories which stay there without any links the link will be removed or suspended.
  • All listed links will be PR updated once a month/two months, to ensure a correct listing
  • All listed links will be validated once a month/two months, when a link is broken it will be suspended. When, on a second check, the site still isn't available it will be removed

6. Submission services

  • Please take care to which category you are submitting, 9/10 times the category submitted to is incorrect
  • Don’t provide your email address, but the info as can be found when performing a whois check on the submission.
  • Don’t provide a made-up name, but the actual name of the owner as can be found when performing a whois check on the submission.
  • Provide actual titles, as can be found in the title meta tag of the submitted sites

Yes, it's a long list and it may offend some people who are expecting a 'free' directory. Unfortunately, it's allready been proven , these guidelines are essential to keep our directory a clean directory.
