Locate the downloaded file (microsoftantispywareinstall.exe) and doubleclick it
The following screen will appear (click on the image to enlarge), press 'next'
Now the license agreement will be presented, read it carefully and check the 'I accept' box if you agree and choose 'next'. When you don't agree, cancel the installation
Now you can choose which folder to install antispy to, press next, or change the destination folder when preferred and press next afterwards
Now, press next and 'install'
The installation will start and will take a few seconds to minutes, depending on your computer configuration
After the installation is finished check 'launch Microsoft Antispyware' and press finish
A new screen will appear, this is microsoft antispyware, press 'next'
At step 1 enable automatic updating and press next. Now for step 2: check 'yes help keep me secure' to enable realtime protection and press next
Now for the final step enable the quick scan and disable the scheduled scanning since you allready enabled realtime protection.
During the scan a box similar to the one below can appear. When you're sure the service is 'safe' choose ignore, when you're not choose 'stop service'. You can always re-enable the service using the configuration screen of Antispy
After scanning you'll be presented the results. Close the screen
Now click on 'realtime protection' the screen below will appear. You can click 'internet agents', ' system agents' or 'application agents' to see what the configuration is set to and, when necessary, you can also change the settings there. finally for each application an explanation is given (see screens below)
Now goto 'advanced tools'. Here you can view registered modules such as BHO's using the System Explorer, restore browser settings and erase your (surfing ) tracks
That's about it. You're system is now protected against most spyware/adware.
