Avast! AntiVirus common problems
Some common problems:
Your computer crashes after installing Avast, uninstall your other virusscanner,t wo scanners on one system will cause a lot of problems
Avast cannot connect to the internet, update your firewall settings and allow Avast access
ODBC drivers not installed. Download them here install and restart your computer
Error 2000000B, the download Avast setupfile is damaged, download it again
You cannot remove Avast using add/remove programs. Download this tool and execute it. Browse to the Avast installation folder and use the utility.
List of errors and possible solutions
42000 UnknownError - Unknown, try reinstalling Avast
42001,2 License is valid/expired - When sure your license is still valid, contact Avast
42003 AVAST_UNWANTEDEXCEPTION Exception found in code - You encountered a bug in Avast, try replicating the error and send a detailled report of how you 'created' this error to Avast to help improve the program
42004 AVAST_FOLDERISFILE Can not create folder a file has the same name - Try another filename/foldername
42005 AVAST_COMPRESSIONERROR Error while compressing data - Restart Avast and try again or download the file again
42006 AVAST_OFFLINEFILE File is not present on drive - The file you want to scan/use has been moved to another drive or is on a removable drive currently removed
42007 AVAST_UNKNOWNOBJECT Object if unknown in current context - Try reinstalling
42009 AVAST_INVALIDINSTALL Avast is not installed as expected - Reinstall Avast
42010 AVAST_NOTPACKED File is not packed
42011 AVAST_OPSTOPPED Operation was stopped
42016 AVAST_FILENOTSELECTED File was not tested due to your configuration
42017 AVAST_INVALIDLICENSE License is not valid - When sure your license is still valid, contact Avast
42018 AVAST_INPROGRESS Operation in progress
42019 AVAST_FILEEXCLUDED File was not tested due to excluded areas - Include the file/extension in your configuration
42030 AVAST_SCAN_UNKNOWN Unknown scanner error - You encountered a bug in Avast, try replicating the error and send a detailled report of how you 'created' this error to Avast to help improve the program
42031 AVAST_OT_UNKNOWN Unknown internal object type
42040 AVAST_VPS_INVALIDCOMPRESSION VPS file was destroyed
42043 AVAST_VPS_ILLEGALVPS VPS file is valid, but updated ilegaly - not using ALWIL Software algorithm
The errors below are about packed files, most of these errors are caused by a damaged archive, locked archive or unknown archive type. The best solution is to redownload the selected file
