AVG Installation and Configuration
After downloading/purchasing AVG you need to setup the program
- Execute 'avg71free_362a652.exe' (where 71 indicates the version, and 62a652 indicates the build so this might differ)
- Press next when confronted with the next screen (click on the image for an enlargement)
- Accept the license agreement, after reading it carefully offcourse and press Accept
- Now your system will be checked
- Select custom installation and press next when the screen below appears
- Your user name and a generated license number will appear. When necessary change your name, but leave the license code intact . Press next
- Now choose the installation folder, pressing next is o.k. unless you want to install to a different location. Also the warning below will appear after pressing next, choose yes
- Check all options when asked to install the components and press next
- Now the email component shows up. Check all boxes next to emailprograms you've installed on your system and press next
- Now a summary of the installation will appear, review all settings and choose finish
- AVG will now be installed, this will take several seconds to a few minutes, depending on the configuration of your computer
- After installing, press 'ok' you don't need to restart your computer
- You'll be congratulated on installing AVG. Click through all the screens and read the contents, AVG will be explained in a few short texts.
- After installing you'll see the grayish icon in the system tray, this is AVG. Also the warning will appear your definitions are not up to date.
- We'll solve this problem by going through the dialogs and pressing 'check for updates'
- After connecting to the server press update'
- The dialog below will appear when you've updated AVG succesfully
- All options in AVG are set as they should be. the last thing we do is performing a full system scan. Goto the control centre->scan and scan all local drives
- Congratulations, you're done
