Kaspersky Installation and Configuration
- Execute 'kav5.0.388trial_personalen.exe' (where 5.0.388 indicates the version, en the language and trial_personal you're installing the trial version of Kaspersky Personal) for the downloaded version or setup.exe for the on-cd version
- When installing the download version the setup will need to unpack the installation files. You can specify the folder where the files will be placed. Write down this location since, after installing, you can delete this folder. (click on the images for an enlargement). Note: when installing the on-cd version you can skip to step 3

- General info will be displayed, telling you you're about to install kaspersky, press next

- The license agreement will be shown, read it carefully and choose yes when you agree. When you don't, cancel the installation
- Now enter your personal information, though you can also fill in something like 'John Doe' and press next

- The release notes will be displayed as well as some general info, you can read this but you can also press next immediatly

- Kaspersky, by default, wants to install itself to c:\program files\kaspersky lab\etc.... This location is just fine, but when you want to change it you can do so now, afterwards press install

- The installation will now start and take a few seconds to minutes, depending on the configuration of your computer

- After installation you'll be asked to reboot, do so. when you don't reboot the on-access network scanner will not be started
- After rebooting you'll get two warnings, click on the 'X' in the upper right corner, we'll deal with those 'problems' now

- Rightclick on the kaspersky icon in the systemtray, the Red 'V' and choose 'update anti-virus database' to get kaspersky up to date. Note: when you're using a proxy go to step 12 when you don't use a proxy you can skip step 12
- When you're using a proxy doubleclick the kaspersky icon in the systemtray, go to 'settings' (tab), 'configure updater', configure. Here you can enter the proxy information. After appplying the settings repeat step 11
- Updating will take a few seconds to minutes, depending on your connection speed

- Install the module updates

- After updating we need to restart again

- After restarting, doubleclick the red 'V' in the systemt ray. The following screen will appear, this is Kaspersky's control panel

- Click on 'scan my computer' to make sure there is no virus present, this will take a while so sit back and relax

- Pressing the button next to 'stop' wills how you detailled information when a virus has been found

- After scanning, go to the 'settings' tab and choose 'configure real-time protection', select 'block access and eprform recommended action' and choose ok

- The final step is to delete the temporary directory made by Kaspersky at step 2
- That's it all other options are set as they should be, congratulations
